An electric forklift is chosen first on load capacity (1.5 to 3.5 tonnes here — the 2 tonne and 2.5 t sizes are the most in demand) and lift height (duplex or triplex mast, free lift). Mind the residual capacity: at full height, a forklift no longer lifts its nominal capacity. Then look at the battery (voltage, charging time — lithium models opportunity-charge without a dedicated charging room) and the aisle width you need. Lead-acid is proven and economical but needs long charging and a ventilated room. Lithium charges fast and opportunistically (during breaks), with no maintenance or charging room — a real plus for multi-shift work. The right choice depends on your intensity of use; the brand's rep advises on your case.
It's exactly its home ground: zero emissions in use, quiet, compact. Ideal in warehouses, food-grade sites and anywhere exhaust gases are banned. Check your aisle width and ceiling height against the chosen mast.
Start from your heaviest load and its size (the load centre matters), then keep margin for residual capacity at height. 2 to 2.5 tonnes covers most warehouse uses; beyond that, go for 3 to 3.5 t. The comparator sorts by capacity to find the right size.
